Our story began in 1974 when Wesley and Vita Moore purchased a beef slaughterhouse in Mandan. And while St. Louis is considered the gateway to the west, the real gateway is right here in Mandan, North Dakota.

Wesley started in a large national meatpacking company but left to fulfill his dream of owning and running his own business. Although it was a startup back then, the shop eventually gained a strong reputation because of his dedication to customer satisfaction, top-notch service, and first-class quality meat products.

Decades have passed, yet M&W Beef remains family-owned by Wesley’s son Steve and his wife Marcy Moore and their partner Mark Hoffert. We have grown to become the trusted authority for the finest USDA choice or higher quality meat cuts. We offer the finest selections of beef, pork, lamb, veal, and bison—prepared, handled, and expertly cut by our master craftsmen.
